2022 World Cup Rugby Sevens

We have been eager to host global rugby tournaments for a number of years and to have the flagship event in the growing sport of Sevens come. The eighth edition is the first to be hosted in Africa with organisers anticipating a very special and record-breaking event at the iconic 57654 capacity Cape Town Stadium. Rugby sevens players and fans can look forward to a very busy and exciting year in 2022 with the Series followed by the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham on 29-31 July and concluding with the Rugby World Cup Sevens in Cape Town on 9-11 September. Rugby World Cup Sevens 2022 will be played during September of that year considering the international calendar including the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series and the Commonwealth Games that will take place in Birmingham England in July 2022.

2022 World Cup Rugby Sevens. Competition dates will be confirmed in due course. TOKYO 29 Oct - South Africa will host Rugby World Cup Sevens 2022 after the World Rugby Council awarded the hosting rights for the premier tournament to South Africa at its Interim Meeting in Tokyo today. Rugby World Cup Sevens 2022 will be played during the September and October 2022 window considering the international calendar including the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series and the Commonwealth Games that will take place in July 2022.

The complete HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series 2022 schedule will be announced later this month. The 2022 World Cup will be the eighth edition. World Rugby and Rugby Australia have confirmed that the HSBC Sydney Sevens will not take place in 2022.

National Sevens Team Shujaa HSBC World Sevens Series. With the Series set to resume later in the year the decision was made to move the Sydney. Cape Town will host the 2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens.
